Review by Kimbery for Starvox.

I'm trying something new this month, and writing the review as its actually happening. That way, you, the reader, can get my unadulterated view on Uranium 235. Oooh! I'm so excited! It's like that live version of ER, only not boring!

First off- the album sleeve. The band seems totally cool. Goth, but not too delicate. Like the type of people who used to hang out on St. Mark's Place, asking people if they get paid to advertise whatever label is splayed on their chest. Plus, they're also from New York; and they thank Neville, one of my bosses at Albion/Batcave. The lead singer, Shane, on the cover also happens to have really nice legs.

I like the name of the album also. Do they mean that the gothic aesthetic is in the minority, or culture at all is dwindling?

Let me just pop in the CD here…My boyfriend says that their cover of "You Spin Me Round" which also weaves in "Tainted Love" rocks, so I'll listen to that first. I really liked the industrial and metal versions of new wave songs from the past two years.

This song rocksrocksrocks. I mean it. Why aren't they playing this song in the clubs? It's an industrial version of the song and has a badass intro. The singer's voice is more cynical in this version, and the echoes on the vocals make the lyrics seem harder. I'm bopping along to the song as I listen to it. It's three steps harder than the original. The song segues effortlessly into "Tainted Love", which has a heavier bass than the original, and is twice as slow. Shane's voice starts to echo again, and we're back to "You Spin Me". I like this song.

"Radio Shutdown" starts off with a Cruxshadows-esque intro segueing into a heavy guitar riff. I wish I had a lyrics sheet, cuz I just know that the words would be brilliant. The only lyrics I can make out are "A simpler way of life"; "sin"; and "government". This song is totally danceable- anyone into industrial, in the least bit, needs to pick up this album.

"Scent Explosion" is another really good song. It has a Misfits influenced opening, and goes into an industrial beat. Also mixed in is the effect of kids on a roller coaster. Shane twists his voice into something evil narrating a nightmare of being chased through a dark wood. The only lyric I can make out is "A lost communion", which is such a tease. Why haven't I seen this band play before?

Wow, this album was a rush. You need to get it, like yesterday.
