Uranium 235
Cultural Minority

(Mystic Music)

Who killed Jon Benet Ramsey?  Why does Comedy Central keep re-running the same unfunny Sinbad comedy special? How the hell could it take 7 years for the music industry to finally take notice of New York City's best band, Uranium 235? These are all crimes and injustices that will be debated and discussed for years to come...My  sermon will focus on the infectious industrial dance grooves of Uranium 235, and their debut release "Cultural Minority". Formed in 1993, U235 is a "haunting and enchanting synthesis of industrial, goth and cybertech electronica". Major kudos go to the A&R staff at Mystic Music for picking up the ball. Now hold tight and put on your running shoes, for Uranium 235's  potential is limitless. "Cultural Minority" combines elements of Pretty Hate Machine era Nine Inch Nails, Sisters of Mercy style Goth, the catch hooks of mid-80's Depeche Mode, and hints of Type O Negative characteristic doom and despair. All of this is wrapped into a 12 song , 56-minute potpourri that lead singer/songwriter Shane235 describes as "the harder side of dance and the guitar side of techno." The band has shared stages with Marilyn Manson, Fear Factory, The Misfits, and Life of Agony, and has developed a stage show of strobing lights, throbbing sounds, and a manic intensity that will throw the average listener into a frenzy  Uranium 235, as well as any other radioactive element are potentially dangerous and unstable if not paid proper attention to. For the safety of you and your loved ones, pick up a copy of "Cultural Minority". The future depends on it... -Dov Teta
