URANIUM 235's CULTURAL MINORITY What I first mistook for a boring makeup bullshit band, ended up being one of my favorite underground bands. My first taste of Uranium235 was a two-song tape given out at a show in NYC. That night I listened to the tape and was blown away by the sheer power of HERE IT COMES. The catchy riffs and powerful vocals were quite unexpected. I found myself listening to the tape over and over again. I figured that the best thing I could do was getting my hands on the full CD. So I mailed away for it and after two or three days of anticipation, I finally got my package in the mail. The album was a welcome change from the norm. While U235 had showed their goth metal roots with Here It Comes, I was surprised to find that U235 is also very techno based and rhythmic. The songs make you want to get up and jump around without being pop-like and corny. One thing that really sets U235 apart from other techno style bands are the kick ass guitar riffs. While other bands fall short with cheesy guitar parts and crap sound quality, Uranium kicks your ass with great drumming, fat bass (both techno and guitar), powerful guitar, and masterful vocal arrangements with cool ass effects. Buy this CD if you want to hear one of the most amazing underground NYC bands. For more info check out Uranium's website: http://www.Uranium235.com |
