Uranium 235 has strong industrial edge, the result of a stunning combination of electronics and powerful guitars. Their vocals range from gorgeous singing to a raging scream. Uranium 235 has been compared to such influential bands as Depeche Mode, Ministry, and Nine Inch Nails, but these comparisons really do them no justice. Uranium 235 combines so many diverse elements that it's impossible to put them into one category.

Uranium 235 was formed in 1994 in New York City by vocalist/guitarist Shane and guitarist Matt Brown. Since then they have added drummer Rob Steele, keyboardist Chris Bride, and bassist Roxy Michaels. The band has toured the United States and Europe with such acts as Switchblade Symphony, Life of Agony, God Lives Underwater, Marilyn Manson, Electric Hellfire Club, Spahn Ranch, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, The Misfits, and MotorHead, to name just a few. During their early days they put out several releases including Number of Samples, Sample A, and Sterile, which were sold to support their road trips.

In 1998 Uranium 235 released their debut album Cultural Minority on SPV/CBH (Germany), PolyGram (U.K.), and Nippon (Japan). Cultural Minority has sold 20,000 records in Germany, and was released in the United States in February 2000 by Mystic Music (and distributed by WEA). The record received critical praise but never reached its full potential because the record label, Mystic, went out of business and did not provide any promotion or tour support. Nevertheless, U235 has managed to build up a huge fan base in the U.S. and is currently promoting the release of Cultural Minority by working with the Sterile Nation Promotions Team, a group of fans across the country who help spread the word about U235 in their hometowns.

Uranium 235 is currently recording the follow up to Cultural Minority.
