Oct 27, 2005 Well Geez !! That's it then, the ultimate end of story!!! What could possibly happen to beat that, poor Spiky, really love's bitch. A ghastly horrendous existential finale but our souled vamp noble and poetic to last bitter moment. Geez I'm gobsmacked.

May 19, 2005 This story was amazing. I was drawn in from the first sentence and pulled along by the powerful emotional underpinnings as well as the action-packed plotting. The angst worked well in the story you crafted.

Jan 31, 2005 stunning, absolutely stunning. i adore the ending, even though spike dies. i've come to realise that, for me, what can really make or break a piece of writing is its final words. and your's were perfect. excellent job.

I found this to be deliciously bitter-sweet. You were indeed right about it being angsty. If not for Buffy being the main character of the show, I could easily imagine this happening in the Jossverse. It reminds me of in Angel when Gunn had to kill his sister, except that in this case Spike never got the chance to kill Buffy. Anyway, I'm rambling. I really liked it and hope to read more of your stories.

Dec 5, 2004 Stunning ending... absolutly wonderful. I really, really liked it, even though Spike did die. That was a very very pretty piece... well, not so much pretty, because it was gruesome, but I hope you get what I mean :) Keep going!

Sep 14, 2004 Contrary to what Ruth said, this story is very well written and I love the image of "fat crocodile tears". A very brilliant piece. ^.^
Oh, and Ruth, when the pairing on this site is something like Spike/Buffy, it doesn't just mean love. Don't come here looking for fan fiction without reading a few of the archivist's notes. Like the notes on Spike's redemption and so on and so forth. If you want some fluffy lovey Spuffy, please, go to adultfanfiction.net, where there is no screening process for fics to see if they're GOOD.

Pairing means that a story DEALS WITH a particular pairing, not that it has to support that pairing. This is explained clearly at the top of the "Fiction by Pairing" page. All About Spike is for stories that EXPLORE SPIKE'S CHARACTER; nowhere are you guaranteed fluffy love stories or support of your favorite pairing. If all you want is sappy Spuffy, go somewhere else. That's the opposite of what this site is about.

Sep 1, 2004 Ruth, as for pairing listing, you might want to take it up with the archivist as that was out out my control. As for the fic, it was written for an angst ficathon where the recipient wanted a maximum amount of angst possible. She wanted Spike and Buffy, hinted at character death and had the stipulation of "one good day." So I guess I merely trying to fullfil the recipient's request.

Aug 26, 2004 uh...I thought 'Buffy/Spike' meant love pairing. Not much love here. Well written, but poorly described. Contrary to some bizzarre myth that hate is the other side of love, anyone who has ever loved a canary or biped can tell you hate is the other side of possesion. I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say with this piece.

Very well done -- Ditto, ditto, and ditto to the other comments people have shared. What makes this story especially chilling is that each twist, while unexpected and unpredictable, is at the same time quite believable.

Wow. Very skillfully done. Went a number of places I didn't think it would and pulled off each twist brilliantly. I'm going to be thinking about this one.

Jul 29, 2004 | That was fantastic. The emotional roller coaster of discovery, lust, revulsion and resignation was deftly handled. Xander's blind hatred of Spike furthering the tragedy unfolding before them was an excellent ending to this story. An emotionally charged and wonderfully written story.
